Bandwidth as Currency

If every citizen had portions of the spectrum divided amongst us, We could use that as a currency.

We could sell it to media companies, and they could use it for their shows.

We could each have a DVR like device that combines these packets into shows.

This could be a basic welfare system.

This could potentially provide a check on our media companies that have so much power.

This could also provide assurance of free speech. (The Internet has fully tracked speech)

super long actively dampened high precision robotic arm.

I would like to make a huge 3d printer with cheap parts.

From discussions with people, the main problem is knowing where the robot is at any given time.

Then, because I want to control where the resin-extrusion-head is at all times, I have to make appropriate feedback loops...

I have to make the counter movements be very quick-- I was thinking about predicting vibrations and movement related twists and complexities.

I could do this with many strain gauges, and possibly piezo crystal sensors.

I was thinking that machine learning could help me adjust the feedback loops. From some discussions at maker spaces,  It sounds like this might not be neccessary.

google doesn't recover accounts, laptop stolen

Well, this may be my last post.

my laptop got stolen, and I changed my google password.

And I tried logging in again, and it didn't work.

So I'm just counting the days until my session expires, I'm screwed! They won't help me!

I'm going to loose all of the things that I use google for, and every other account that I have that is based on my gmail account.

I basically suffered a digital death! It hurts!

What this blog is

Aaron Peterson's idea blog. Generally positive attitude stuff goes here. I've been so excited to write down my idaes, that I'd like to think that they burn bright enough to make the wire... the network connection...glow.

I'm generally a bit ahead of the technology game, but I haven't yet demonstrated the ability to follow through with my ideas. I want to someday, however, I've noticed that TONS of people have TONS of great ideas. (and a lot of bad ones...)

I want to share my ideas for the benefit of mankind. I wanted to provide prior art so that they cannot be patented, but corruption may have made patents easier to get.

I strive to see where other people are coming from with their ideas.
I believe that lying/deception, hiding information can be viewed as a fundamental ... sin.

[I deleted a bit about my world view.]

Free Software Has a Chance

Today I went to an Apple Store. I found a horrible bug in the task bar-- it's extremely easy to nuke an item off of the start/task bar. or accidentally re arrange them...

And, I tried to exit the adobe macintosh products... It just plain wouldn't exit! I clicked Illustrator--or whatever the left most menu was, and exit was greyed out!! Nothing else to do!!!

And just now, I had an Itunes experience, whereby I was not able to backup my expensive purchases, but it also ejected my DVD video that I watching, and did a couple of other horrible things....

This is all udder crap, I won't put Vista on my machines.. IE7 turned me off to MS design.. My only hope is KDE4 and Opera! If the website doesn't work in Opera, it can go to... oh wait, this blogspot website doesn't work with Opera...

Anyway, I'm just saying, free software has a chance... And it's a good chance. OSX and Vista are second rate pieces of crud. KDE may be just a tad worse, but not by much.

What's first rate? --shudder--- WinXP for me right now... but that depends on if your manufacturer supports windows. (Toshiba doesn't seem to support my Toshiba Tecra M4, it's old drivers probably cause problems on graphical stuff)

So, I may be too tired to post, but I'm doing it anyway. Go see Hot Fuzz, it was funny!

Battle Code

Yay! I finally found a robotic fighting competition... it's not a very realistic virtual enviornment... It doesn't attempt to approximate reality... however, I just realized that it's probably at a complexity level that people can actually work with.

My guess... Formations are going to be a big deal, and it doesn't look like there is much of a penalty for creating units and letting them die. Also, basic

I played with the demo system, the biggest problems are: the JDK is not easy to find. JRE is very easy to find... and it doesn't get put into the path properly.

I really really should have tried to go to MIT... They won't let just anybody register :(

Our sytem, try new things

Anybody ever consider, that if everybody is a shareholder in the major corporations, that we own the corporations? Anybody consider that we don't have top down control of them?, that we only vote with our consumerism?... and that there are essentially dictators that want to perform for the shareholder... a service to make more money, which could simultaneously gouge the very owners of the sytem?

How is this different than the communism that so many people hold in low regard? almost everybody is a part of some stock holding organization. Almost everybody owns part of everything...

The pieces only go together in a certain fashion... our captialism might as well be communism. What held us apart is the free speech and other rights, that are now being whittled away.

I fear that copyright and patents are encroaching on something beyond free speech, they are targeting our very existence.

Artists must recognize that people just listening to their music is part of the reward, and people who listen must recognize the cost of making them. If we want music, we will pay for it!!!! we must. The music will stop flowing if we don't. We can survive a trial period without Big Content. After this trial period, where they are defanged, lets see how the music scene is.

WE CAN have trial periods for laws!

Why should I care if spiderman 4 comes out or not. I was assaulted with spiderman 3 advertismentes. On onehand, this grand media system unites us with a common story. on the other, it is a bloated, and demeaning.
